All-New 2019 Honda Passport

Honda is back with a new model for the 2019 year - the Passport. Old Honda fans from State College may remember the Passport from 2002, but there are a few things that are different. The 2019 Honda Passport is a rugged and sporty crossover SUV with seating for 5 and plenty of storage to accommodate all passengers. It may seem familiar to those who own a Honda Pilot, it's the same platform and engine, but without the third row, the Passport has a smaller length, giving it better off-road and towing capabilities. Exterior styling hints at the tougher capabilities of the vehicle and includes a scratch-resistant front bumper - perfect for off-roading adventures. What are the Performance Features of the 2019 Honda Passport?

The Honda Passport sports a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 280hp and is partnered with a 9-speed automatic transmission for a remarkably smooth ride around State College and Phillipsburg. The 2019 Passport Sport, EX-L, and Touring models all come standard with Front Wheel Drive with the option of All Wheel Drive. The Elite model comes standard with Honda's impressive All-Wheel Drive System. The AWD system uses torque-vectoring to send up to 70% of the available torque to the back wheels, even allowing it to send 100% of that power to one side or the other. This makes driving over loose gravel or sand a breeze, making it an off-road beast. The Passport is designed to handle the trails and any other obstacles in its way, and sports more ground clearance than the Honda Pilot. What's more is that the Honda Passport can tow 3,500lbs. and offers up to 5,000lbs. of towing, with the available Tow Package.

What's inside the new Honda Passport?

Inside the new Passport, the interior reflects similarities found in the Pilot, same headroom and legroom measurements, but without the cramped third row. Although the stylish black headliner and perforated leather seats are more rugged than what you would find in the Pilot, the media setup is shared with the larger Honda SUV. More USB charging ports can be found throughout the cabin, with an additional household outlet in the second row, and it comes with even more cargo space. There is an additional under-floor storage compartment big enough for a purse or backpack, for secure storage if you're going to a Nittany Lion's game at Penn State and want to leave a few things behind. The 40/60 folding seats in the back can be automatically dropped with the push of a button for added convenience, and the cargo floor can open up, revealing a plastic surface which is much easier to clean when hauling large items around Mt. Union and Tyrone.

What standard Safety Features come with the 2019 Passport?

Drivers around State College can expect the same great Safety Features that Honda releases with all its vehicles, and Honda Sensing now comes standard on ALL trim levels of the 2019 Passport. Not only does that include the forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, lane departure warning, and road departure mitigation, but you also get a multi-angle backup camera with dynamic lines and a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alerts.

What kind of Technical Features are available with the 2019 Honda Passport?

Advanced technical Features can also be found throughout the Passport's interior, from the moment you step inside using your Keyless Entry. The 5- or 8-inch infotainment system will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto over a ten-speaker system on upper trim levels. Automatic Climate Control will keep those in Penn State warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights, will ensure visibility day and night.

As you go up the trim levels drivers in Phillipsburg and Mt. Union can enjoy added convenience technologies such as auto-dimming and heated side mirrors, heated seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, premium audio, an in-car navigation system, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, cloud-based remote app services, a hands-free power tailgate, and a moonroof are all available on the 2019 Honda Passport.
