2019 An SUV for Everyone!

SUV for Everyone at Bobby Rahal in State College Pennsylvania

Packing plenty of flexibility into smart, efficient packaging, the modern SUV is a juggernaut in the automotive market. From subcompact SUVs that fit plenty of interior space into a compact car-sized footprint, to massive people carriers that can haul a family, tow a boat, and still have room for plenty of gear, there's an SUV for everybody.

Few automakers are providing the intelligent SUV range that Honda offers. Some offer a half-dozen versions or more, making you wonder why there are so many specialized vehicles. Honda, on the other hand, offers four different SUVs to the drivers of State College and Tyrone. Yet, with only four SUVs, Honda still manages to provide an answer for almost every situation a driver might need.

Honda CR-V

Consistently ranked the best in its class, the 2019 Honda CR-V is the latest version of one of the most relied-upon SUVs on the road today. Room for five includes over 55 inches of shoulder room in both the front and rear seats, as well as 40.4 inches of leg room in the back seat - enough space for adults to be comfortable on trips to Penn State away games. You get plenty more cargo space stepping up to the CR-V, with 39.2 cubic feet behind the second row of seating and a maximum volume of 75.8 cubic feet with the rear seats stowed. You don't lose much in the way of fuel economy to gain this extra space - in two-wheel drive trim, you can see 28 MPG around Tyrone of up to 34 MPG on the open road. Like the HR-V, Bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming audio is standard, with available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Unlike the HR-V, upscale audio options are offered, including an eight-speaker system or a 330-watt Premium Audio System with nine speakers and a subwoofer. The Honda Sensing Suite of safety features, including Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning, is standard on all but the base LX trim of the 2019 CR-V.

Honda HR-V

Starting small, the 2019 Honda HR-V has an extremely compact footprint - it's actually a foot shorter in length than the Honda Civic! There's a lot to like in the small package though. With all-wheel drive available on every trim level, it is ready to deal with the sloppy winter conditions around Mechanicsburg, and can even handle some of the rough-road and off-road terrain of the state parks around Mt. Union. Honda engineers make the most of the footprint, with up to 100.1 cubic feet of passenger volume that includes 39.3 inches of leg room for rear passengers. That's plenty for short trips, or longer road trips. When you need cargo space for hauling, there's plenty of that too. Even with all the seats in place, there's up to 24.3 cubic feet behind the second row. When you need to maximize space, whether heading off on a camping trip or moving from dorm to dorm at Penn State, the second row stows to provide up to 58.8 cubic feet of space. Bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming audio is standard, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is available. The Honda Sensing Suite of advanced driver-assistive and active safety features is available, helping to make the roads and parking lots of Philipsburg safer for drivers and pedestrians alike.

Honda Passport

Reviving a nameplate from the past, the 2019 Honda Passport brings diversity to the Honda SUV line-up. Perfect for those who think the Pilot is a little too big, or who desire more off-roading capabilities, the Passport lives up to the name by allowing drivers to explore like never before. With 280 horsepower under the hood, going through a nine-speed transmission, it is responsive and efficient at the same time. Available Intelligent Variable Torque Management all-wheel drive helps it tackle slushy State College roads, or the tracks and trails in the forests beyond Philipsburg. This comes through the snow, sand, and mud modes for the all-wheel drive system, making it a sensible off-roader, an off-road-ready vehicle that can still be the perfect on-road commuter. At the same time, it can tow up to 5,000 pounds, so you'll be able to pull along your boat or pop-up camper with ease. Built for the driver who needs plenty of cargo space without the need for a third row, all five passengers get roomy seats, including 61.9 inches of rear shoulder room and 57.3 inches of rear hip room. The cargo hold is immense - even with the second row in place, you'll have space for 41.2 cubic feet of gear for your weekends off the grid. Features such as remote start and tri-zone automatic climate control are standard across the line-up, and the Honda Sensing Suite is standard on all trim levels as well.

Honda Pilot

The biggest and most spacious vehicle in the Honda SUV line-up, the 2019 Honda Pilot is six inches longer than the Passport and offers seating for up to eight passengers, thanks to the third row. Sporting the same engine as the Passport, it is more than capable, and won't lag even with a full load heading up the steep State College hills. That includes the maximum towing capability of 5,000 pounds, all eight passengers, and 16 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row - if you don't need the passengers, that can expand up to 46.8 cubic feet behind the second row, or 83.8 cubic with both the second and third row stowed. That's the most cargo space across the Honda line-up. Available heated seating helps to counter the frigid winter months at Penn State, and unique features like CabinControl Remote Compatibility helps to keep everyone engaged, allowing the driver to focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about changing the radio station. Optional mobile hotspot capability, wireless phone charging, and multi-zone audio makes the Pilot the perfect road trip vehicle - or the perfect car pool vehicle.

With such a smart variety of SUVs to choose from, it's no wonder that so many new-car buyers make Bobby Rahal Honda their first stop when looking for their next vehicle. From the pocket-sized CR-V to the haul-anything Pilot, all available with the latest in comforts and conveniences, there truly is something for everyone. So come in to look through the line-up in person for yourself - we're easy to get to, whether you're coming from Mechanicsburg, Philipsburg, Mt. Union, Tyrone or beyond!
